I am looking to recruit on behalf of three primary schools in the Havering area that are looking to take on multiple graduates as teaching assistants. Graduates who are successful will benefit from a full supportive teaching assistant program that will lead to initial teacher training and eventually qualified teacher status.
Depending on your level of experience, or personal preference, you will be based in a key stage two or one class, providing general teaching assistant support to all pupils within the classroom. As with all primary schools, a key area of focus will be literacy and numeracy. As you progress and develop, you will start to work with small groups of pupils, helping you to hone your planning and teaching skills. This will guide you to become confident enough, at the end of the academic year, to be able to approach full classes and short lessons.
You will be joining a school with an ambitious head teacher who has big plans for their school. They aim to be outstanding within the next two years and their plan to take on graduates as teaching assistants is part of their vision to develop all teaching to a high standard.
The school is specifically looking for teaching assistant candidates who have degree, some experience of working with children and the desire to want to become a primary school teaching. The will to want to become a primary teacher is paramount. You will not be considered for the post if you aren't looking to forge a career in primary education.
