Nursery Nurse
Location: Chesterfield Town Centre
Hours: Full Time, Term Time and Supply roles available
Salary: Competetive
The Nursery Nurse is responsible to the Room Supervisor/Manager.
We are recruiting for a:
- Term Time Role - 20 Hour Contract
- Full Time Role - 30 Hour Contract
- Supply Role - as and when required
Duties will include:
- Working in partnership with and supporting the Directors, Nursery Manager and the Deputy Manager to ensure the daily running of the nursery, adhering to the Policies and Procedures and within the guidelines of Ofsted and the EYFS (including the statutory requirements and development matters documents).
- Maintaining a positive attitude at all times, demonstrating enthusiasm, passion and friendliness.
- Ensuring confidentiality is maintained in the nursery.
- Disclosing any concerns regarding a child’s welfare/safety. (Including those that involve staff members).
- Working as part of a team.
- Key holder responsibility as required.
- The care and supervision of the children with regard to their physical, emotional and intellectual needs.
- To plan and contribute to a programme of activities suitable for the age range of the children, following the guidelines of the “EYFS” and the nursery policies.
- Offering all children equal opportunities with regard to their religious persuasion, racial origins, gender, disabilities, cultural or linguistic background; in particular, challenging situations where racism or discrimination is displayed.
- Supervision and effective mentoring of Nursery assistants and Students.
- Effective monitoring of peers and challenging any inappropriate actions.
- Providing a good role model for Nursery Assistants and Students and helping new staff to fit in to the nursery.
- Positive management of children’s behaviour.
- Supervision of meals and meal times, nappy changing and where appropriate preparation of babies bottles.
- Ensuring that the preparation, care, cleanliness and maintenance of the communal areas, nursery playrooms and equipment are carried out according to the Little Leprechauns policies and procedures.
- Keeping and monitoring accident, incident and risk assessment records.
- Administer First Aid in accordance with Little Leprechauns policies
- Laundry duties
- Developing excellent communications/partnership with parents/carers encouraging involvement in their child’s progress and development, and being an effective key person.
- Attendance at staff meetings as arranged by the directors and the Nursery Manager.
- Participating in regular parent’s evenings, publicity, open weekends and children’s outings.
- Completion of the children’s daily routines and care sheets
- Any other duties appropriate to the post as directed by the Nursery Manager, Deputy Manager or the Directors.
