We are a well-established nursery with a reputation for excellence, rated Outstanding by Ofsted.  Since being acquired by the current owners in 2013, the nursery has undergone extensive refurbishment and building work to create airy bright open spaces with an emphasis on natural high quality resources.  Over this time the nursery has almost doubled in capacity to accommodate 90 children.  We’re continuing to build on our reputation and we’re looking for talented people to join our successful team. 

As Deputy Manager of Incy Wincys, you’ll be second in command, with busy bods from 3 month old to 5 years old and over 20 staff to lead and manage. It’s no small task! Therefore this position would be ideal for an experienced manager of a small nursery or pre-school.  You’ll need to embody our nursery culture and use all your existing skills, experience, resilience and passion for Early Years to deliver a fantastic educational experience for our children. You’ll be teaching when needed and working closely with the Nursery Manager you will be responsible for the smooth running of the daily operation, ensuring all nursery policies and procedures are embedded into staff practice. 


Leadership: managing and coaching a team of 20 staff; providing on the job training, guidance and support for all aspects of the Early Years Educators role. 
Being the face of Incy Wincys: welcoming parents and visitors, giving tours, dealing with parent queries, building and maintaining excellent relationships with parents. 
Develop the learning environments: ensure the learning environments are stimulating and constantly changing to challenge children’s learning; support staff as they implement new ideas; ensure all children receive personalised care specific to their needs. 
Planning & logistics: running the nursery routine, managing rotas. 
Working with partners: OFSTED, local agencies, Early Years specialist services and organisations. 
Regulatory responsibility & continuous improvement: promoting child welfare and ensure safeguarding procedures are followed; reviewing risk assessments; critically assessing all policies, procedures and practice to drive improvement. 
Working patterns: a flexible shift pattern within the opening hours (7.30am-6pm) of the nursery to ensure ratios are met and the nursery is operational.
