£9.50-10.50 per hour • 15-35 hours per week, term-time only (39 weeks per annum)

We are looking for candidates to help us deliver high quality, inclusive early education and childcare, for children aged 2-4 years at a new preschool service in the London Borough of Camden.

The role will promote teaching and learning to ensure that children are ready for school. Reporting to the Early Years Manager, as an Early Years Practitioner you will ensure that children experience a broad range of play and learning opportunities, to enable them to develop knowledge and skills as a foundation for good future progress through school and life. As well as being an experienced Early Years professional, you will work effectively with stakeholders and parents to develop positive and effective relationships.

You will be responsible for:

  • Raising the quality of early years’ provision, including physical, emotional, social and intellectual education and care for children
  • Promoting excellent practice across the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
  • Implementing all policies and good practice at all times in the Preschool
  • Using systems to assess, record and report on progress in children’s development and learning
  • Working in partnership with specialist agencies or professionals to ensure the safety and well-being of all children, identifying child or family support needs as necessary
  • Sustaining a safe and welcoming environment through the provision of appropriate, child-led and adult initiated experiences, activities and play opportunities
  • Ensuring high expectations of all children and demonstrate commitment to ensuring that they can achieve their full potential
  • Working effectively with stakeholders, parents and careers, developing positive and effective relationships.

You will hold a full and valid Level 3 qualification in Early Years or equivalent. You will have experience of working with the foundation stage age group and delivering a high quality, inclusive childcare service. A thorough knowledge and understanding of the EYFS, Ofsted standards and relevant current legislation is beneficial.
