Forest Nursery Practitioner- Third in Charge Teaching Assistant
In 2 years, we’ve changed the lives of over 200 children through outdoor education, child-led play and an emergent curriculum. Due to our continued growth, we are recruiting new team members to join the Little Forest Folk movement and help change the world, one child and one forest at a time.
Little Forest Folk is an exciting new concept in urban nursery childcare. Our team is friendly, dynamic and dedicated to playing and having fun.
We are a full time forest nursery chain, open 51 weeks a year from 8am-6pm for 2-5 year olds in Wimbledon, Chiswick and Fulham.
Due to the success of our current nurseries, we are now in the process of expanding our venture and will open our newest site in Wandsworth and Barnes. We are looking for practitioners to join our team in Summer 2017
We have an indoor facility for pickup and drop off of the children then we spend 9am-4pm playing, laughing and learning in our beautiful forest settings. We were recently graded by Ofsted to be Outstanding in our Wimbledon nursery and we are aiming for the same in our new nurseries.
Our nurseries are child led and play based and we believe it's of great importance to allow children the freedom to be physically active all day whilst enjoying a deep connection to nature. Our children are incredibly happy and are developing wonderfully with our unique approach - we are proud of providing a healthy and happy childhood for all of our children. We have rewritten our version of the EYFS that enables us to easily provide the learning experience children need in the early years, simply in a special method. Our literacy involves sticks and mud, our maths involves acorns and our technology involves an outdoor wooden block directed robot!
Our ideal staff will have not only relevant qualifications but a great passion for the outdoors and getting kids back into nature. A minimum of level 3 in early years childcare is desired but not essential. If you have any experience in forest schools or outdoor education then that would also be welcomed. If you don't yet have your forest school qualification we would support you to achieve this and any other qualifications to enhance your personal development.
