Role: Room Leader

Salary: Up to £21,000 (plus benefits)

Location: Hackney, E9 6BP

Oakville Day Nursery is looking for a fantastic Room Leader.

We are looking for a passionate, creative and committed childcare practitioner who is approachable and organised to join our new nursery opening Autumn 2017.

As a Room Leader you will be managing and leading a small team of staff maintaining a warm and caring environment for children and their parents/carers.

Some of your duties will include:

  • To ensure the children are cared for in a happy, safe and stimulating environment
  • To plan, prepare and review the curriculum with the team in your room reflective of the EYFS
  • To work in partnership with parents and carers
  • To follow and implement all of the policies and procedures set out by the nursery
  • To be a nominated key person and ensure that children maximize their learning and development potentials with your support.

To be considered for this post, you must have:

  • A minimum NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent
  • Previous experience of caring for or working with children aged 0-5 years
  • Good time and people management skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of Equal Opportunities
  • A knowledge of safeguarding practices
  • SEN experience is desirable
  • An up to date knowledge of the EYFS curriculum is essential

Role: Nursery Practitioner

As a new nursery opening, we are looking for an experienced Early Years practitioner who is truly passionate about the care they provide, are enthusiastic and can bring a fun-filled attitude into our nursery. 

You need to be a hands-on person who is willing to get into rich play activities with children, ceasing every opportunity to scaffold children in their learning.

Suitable candidates must also have a good understanding of safeguarding children and child protection.

Some of your duties will be: 

  • To provide the highest standards of quality care and education. 
  • To work within the framework of the Children Act, the Early Years Foundation Stage, Statutory Framework, the Nursery’s Policies and Procedures and current legislation relating to childcare 
  • To implement and evaluate a plan of suitable experiences and activities for the children in your care, providing a safe and stimulating environment for the children to develop.
