Room Leader and Special Education Needs Coordinator Leader - PL24 Par

Our client is an independent, family-owned nursery, opened at the start of January 2013. They place great value on the relationships they have with the families of the children in their care. They are a growing nursery and will be a great team to work with. 

The nursery is looking for two qualified, enthusiastic, and caring Childcare Practitioners to take on new positions of responsibility within the nursery, including SENCO and Room Leader. They are looking for team players who are passionate about childcare and want to progress within a growing nursery and preschool. Candidates should be able to work with confidence and initiative and be comfortable with positions of trust and responsibility.


You will be required to lead and manage your role in relation to the specific needs of the children you are supporting and liase with professionals. Both verbal and written skills are required for this role.

You must have knowledge of EYFS and ideally be competent in Makaton and PECs.

Being the nursery SENCO you must have a strong passion for SEN and want to develop and benefit the lives of the children as well as having the appropriate skills and qualities to show inspirational leadership, great organisation, and interpersonal skills.

The wage per hour will be £7.70

Room Leader

We are recruiting for an experienced, NVQ Level 3 Qualified Nursery Nurse Room Leader Practitioner

An ideal room leader will be a highly experienced and confident nursery practitioner, capable of planning for and overseeing the Preschool section (ages 3-4).

The wage per hour will be £7.90

As a minimum for both roles, you will need to:

  • Have a Level 3 Ofsted-recognised qualification in Childcare,
  • Be able to show evidence of ongoing personal development

training and preferably be interested in further training

  • Have experience working within a range of under 5 age groups
  • Have a working knowledge of their stages of development and of

the current EYFS

  • Be able to plan suitable activities with regard to each

child’s needs and interests.

The positions will be for between 30 and 40 hours per week including one 07:30 start every week.  There is the possibility for one role to encompass SENCO support only with a reduction in hours.
