Gumboots Community Nursery is a 71-place nursery for children aged 0-5 years old. Located within East Dulwich, Southwark, Gumboots Community Nursery is ranked by Ofsted as an ‘Outstanding’ nursery in July 2016. It comprises of 4 rooms with 3 outdoor spaces for the children and is open 51 weeks of the year. Gumboots Community Nursery is part of the LEYF’s group of 37 nurseries with an exceptional reputation within the early years sector.

What do you need to have to be considered for this position?

We are currently looking for a avid and qualified Deputy Nursery Manager to support and lead at our Gumboots Community Nursery. We are seeking for a Deputy Nursery Manager leader who is organised and robust; able to adapt to any environment and able to give all areas their full attention.

You will be required to hold a Full and relevant child care qualification at level 3 including NNEB, NVQ level 3 (childcare & education), BTEC (childcare) or equivalent. Post qualified experience in a group setting working with babies/ 2-5 year old with the essential capability to supervise staff and demonstrate knowledge  and experience of the EYFS. You will have strong knowledge of child protection and safeguarding and the ability to take the lead when required. You will work directly with the Nursery Manager to ensure procedures are adhered to, ensure the nursery consistently promotes positive behaviour, self-control and independence in the children. You will also be required to manage and develop the nursery team and undertake administrative and IT activities of the nursery including collection of fees, nursery database, purchasing and receipts.
