Nursery Apprentice – opportunity to work in a highly sought after nursery towards a recognised childcare qualification. Previous experience desirable but not essential.

As an established setting in Newham, we have supported many of our staff during their apprenticeship towards gaining the level 2 or 3 in childcare with apprentices then being taken on as staff members.

Salary: at least 10% higher than the national apprenticeship rate.

Nursery Practitioner - We are also seeking to recruit full time and term time only level 3 qualified nursery practitioners to work in our baby rooms, toddler rooms and pre-school rooms.

Must have a minimum of NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in order to be considered for the position. Experience of working in a nursery setting and knowledge of the revised EYFS.

Salary: £17,500.00 and above depending on qualification and experience.

We are based in Custom House in East London. Easily reached by public transport with a maximum of 5 minutes walk from Custom House DLR station and bus routes including Stratford and Canning Town bus stations.

The role involves:

  • Maintaining high standards in delivering the revised EYFS to help the children progress according to their developmental needs.
  • Working as part of a team as a key person in a caring and nurturing environment.
  • Working in partnership with parents and other external professionals to meet the varied needs of the children.

Qualifications and experience

  • No previous childcare qualifications required for the nursery apprentice.
  • Must have a minimum of NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in order to be considered for the nursery practitioner position.
  • Recent experience of working in a nursery setting.
  • Up to date knowledge and understanding of the revised EYFS.
  • You will need to have a good command of spoken and written English.
  • An enhanced DBS check will be carried out.
  • Previous training, for example in paediatric first aid, safeguarding, SEN, food hygiene, health and safety and first aid at work are advantageous.
