We are looking for an experienced Early Years Teacher holding an Early Childhood Studies Degree to join our team in January 2019 to teach the 4 year olds class (reception). The candidate should have an excellent standard of English, be passionate about teaching and possess some understanding of the needs of ESL children within the EYFS framework.
The teacher will have strong self organisation skills and excellent classroom management skills as well as being able to work as a part of a team. We require a person with a pleasant cheerful personality who is able to develop a rapport with parents and families of children in the school. There should be evidence of sound knowledge of computer and ICT operations as a resource for teaching.
The class teacher will implement an adjusted EYFS curriculum to suit an international cohort of children. Preparation of daily lesson plans as well as making short, medium and long term plans. A proactive approach is required in developing the ‘whole child’ through accurate and effective assessments to determine strengths and weaknesses as children develop and move toward achieving the early learning goals set out in the EYFS framework.
A positive active participation in school events such as open days, the PTA committee, parents consultations and school interviews is expected. The healthy development of home-school cooperation, including organising activities for class parents / helpers. Recording of class / school events through various media, video, photo for web upload or children’s portfolios. Organising of field trips and activities for children and parents that tie in to planning and enhance knowledge of a particular topic. Preparation of three termly reports based on the EYFS framework to be discussed at parent consultations.

All overseas positions requires the application and issuance of a work visa by the HK immigration department. The application for an employment visa will be sponsored by the school and processed before the arrival in Hong Kong of the successful candidate.
About the Preschool
We are an international preschool and nursery located in the district of Tai Po, Hong Kong. We have 8 spacious classrooms, an indoor play area and a music / multi purpose room occupying about 6000 sq ft on the ground floor of a tower block. We implement the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum to a large extent with adjustments for ESL learners who make up some the international cohort of students. Each of our classes has approximately 20 children with one teacher and an assistant. Many children leave at the end of K2 (age 5) to start Year 1 at international primary schools in the area, while others go on to our K3 class and either plan to attend local primary schools at age 6 or join international primary schools at the start of Year 2. We operate on two half day classes from Monday to Friday that is one in the morning and one in the afternoon with each session being of 3 hours duration.
