Early Years Teacher

The opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, inspirational EYFS teacher to further their career at a fast-developing, innovative British curriculum co-educational international boarding school in Shenzhen, Southern China. The successful candidate will have an outstanding record of teaching in the Early Years. A minimum of 2 years' teaching experience is required.

The position

We are excited to be opening a new Early Years class at Merchiston International School. We are therefore looking to appoint a knowledgeable and child-centred practitioner for August 2019.

We welcome applications from suitably qualified teachers who can demonstrate an excellent understanding of the importance of play and the natural development of young children. A thorough knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum is required and experience in an ITMP environment would be of interest, although not essential.

You will need to be a fully collaborative team player, able to work with a diverse group of staff, families and children. A depth of understanding of the needs of teaching children with English as an Additional Language is a must, as is the ability to be open to new experiences and an interest in cultural diversity.

Merchiston International School is a young school, having only opened in August 2018. Qualifications

Short-listed candidates must be able to provide a recent DBS/PVG check, police clearance certificate or similar record of non-criminality demonstrating that there is no reason why they cannot work with children.
