Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Room Leader to join our team for a full-time position with an immediate start. 

Sommerville Day Nursery is an established Outstanding setting based in Lewisham, South-East London. We are situated 10 minutes walking distance from Lewisham train station and the DLR. We are also adjacent to Lewisham Shopping Centre.

You will be working closely with staff members to support the development of the children in our care. We ensure each child is cared for and nurtured in a loving environment so they can develop and enhance their existing learning needs and skills. We cater for children aged 6 months to 5 years old.

Applicants will need the following qualifications, training and experience:

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent or above
• Current relevant experience working as a practitioner or Room Leader looking after children aged 6 months to 5 years. 
• Knowledge and understanding of the safeguarding children obligations
• Good working knowledge of EYFS framework
• Knowledge of OFSTED requirements
• Experience as a key person – completing children’s observations, planning and next steps, etc.
