An exciting opportunity has arisen for a well-rounded and dynamic Manager with strong leadership abilities to join a hugely successful, creative/sporty day-camp for 3-12s school holidays in Camden NW1 London. We do quality music, drama, and sport sessions in age groups during the mornings and a child-led afternoon with art session/playground games and free-play. There is a Forest school programme running alongside the day-camp going to the local parks with children crossing back over to the day-camp for extended hours care. We are on the EY Ofsted register.

For the owner to be able to expand into new settings we are seeking a Manager that has previous experience of running a busy nursery setting/ Holiday club who is looking to develop their career and be a part of this expanding company. You will be taking this day-camp from strength to strength working in conjunction with the owner and an administrator

  • Dates are flexible – 8-6pm state school holidays – private school weeks are negotiable with Deputy manager in charge
  • During term-times there is preparation/meetings (and these hours would be negotiable/mutually convenient, and paid)
  • February Half Term
  • Spring Holiday (2 or 3 weeks)
  • May Half Term
  • Summer Holiday (5 Weeks finishing mid-August)
  • October Half Term
  • Winter break (week before Xmas)

It will be your responsibility to ensure children are cared for in a safe environment, that an engaging high quality, creative/sporty programme is delivered to all age groups (including Forest School in the local parks) and that the camp is run to exceptionally high standards. You will be working within a professional childcare staff team in order to provide the very best experience for the children. From the moment the children arrive you will ensure they have an amazing holiday experience with quality activities/play opportunities, making new friends and having fun.

We have a competent and experienced staff team who are always willing to go the extra mile to ensure that the children have the best and most enjoyable time, which is what keeps our parent partnerships so strong and coming back to us holiday after holiday. We have sessions, workshops, outings and resources for children which are great fun but it is our team atmosphere that really counts and makes the difference.

Located within walking distance to several tube, over-ground stations and main bus routes, Holiday Academy is a 5 min walk from Camden High Street at Cavendish school, NW1 7HB.

Responsibilities include:

  • To manage, achieve and maintain consistently high standards of care and education within a busy day-camp with approx 100 children daily on the day-camp and forest school programmes.
  • To effectively lead and manage recruitment, to lead from the front providing day to day guidance, training and support to staff
  • To keep Holiday Academy Ofsted and H&S compliant
  • To keep abreast of current early childhood thinking/trends
  • To manage budgets
  • To ensure Holiday Academy is best equipped to communicate effectively with parents and external agencies.
  • To oversee all operations and logistics of a busy day-camp

You will need to have the following qualifications, training and experience:

  • Self-motivation, passion and commitment
  • Minimum NNEB, CACHE Level 3, NVQ Level 3 and previous management experience
  • Excellent knowledge of health and safety legislation and Ofsted standards
  • Excellent knowledge of the EYFS
  • Excellent organisational/time management skills with the ability to work to targets and deadlines
  • Excellent communication, liaising and delegating skills
  • Knowledge and understand of equal opportunities / SENCO etc.
  • Good computer/social media skills
  • Impressive command of spoken and written English
  • Excellent rates of pay and bonuses with on-going support and career development
  • Current First Aid at Work and Designated Safeguarding Officer training
