Job Details

This role is ideal for an Art Teacher who is wishing to work in the Early Years Sector.

As the Nursery's Early Years Art Teacher you will be responsible for creating a studio environment to support, nurture and inspire children develop an appreciation of art as part of general culture.

You will have the experience, knowledge and skill to teach techniques of expression through a wide variety of art media in line with the EYFS curriculum and the Nurseries unique educational curriculum, which you will play an integral part in establishing and embedding.

You will be an experienced Art Teacher or Art professional qualified to degree level in Art, ideally with Qualified Teacher Status.

As the Early Years Art Teacher you will have a broad and comprehensive understanding of Art mediums and movements, from pre-historic art through to contemporary and will demonstrate a thorough understanding of the history of art and have the ability to use this appropriately in lesson delivery.

You will oversee the learning, development and attainment of the children's progress within the subject matter and have the capacity to advise, lead and advise other colleagues to ensure a holistic and individual approach to the children's learning.

As Early Years Art Teacher you will work closely with leaders and other subject teachers to introduce, embed and continually monitor the education systems and programmes offered within the Nursery.

The Early Years Art Teacher will have the following qualifications/experience: -

* A Recognised Degree in Art. ideally with QTS status.

* Experience in caring for young children aged 0-5 years.

* The ability to manage a group of children.

* Knowledge and understanding of the History of Art.

* An understanding of art movements throughout the ages, from Pre-Historic to Contemporary.

* Experience is assessing children's development and planning activities to support their on-going attainment and growth.

* The ability to work within a multi-subject team.
