Early Years Officer - Communication and Workforce Development

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Early Years team based at Southend Borough Council.  Working in partnership with Southend Borough Council we are seeking a Communication and Workforce Development Early Years Officer based at the Civic Centre, Southend On Sea.

Job Overview: 

• The successful candidate joins a busy, friendly team with responsibility to give advice and support to all early years and childcare providers to provide a high quality of practice for all children within southend. They will play a key role in communication and workforce development function of the service and be the first point of contact for the provider for advise and support. 
• The role also covers supporting the completion of audits, maintain websites and administer and monitor budgets as directed.

Essential Criteria: 

• Relevant level 3 qualification or above (or equivalent)
• A sound understanding of the Early Years and Childcare Sector, Ofsted inspection requirements and the current challenges within the sector
• Knowledge and experience of child development and the EYFS
• Proven communication skills, able to influence and communicate effectively to providers, parents, internal and external partners
