Early Years Professional Development Lead
Salary: £50,000 per annum
Full time, fixed term until 31 July 2021
Location: Reading (with UK travel)
We are looking for a Professional Development Lead to be part of a DfE programme that will support early years practitioners who work in pre-reception settings attended by more disadvantaged children aged 2-4. The programme’s purpose is to improve the capabilities of the workforce to support the children’s development and prepare them for what lies ahead and will aim to improve the quality of practice within Early Years settings, as well as ensuring the children attending – now and in future – are better prepared for moving into school, particularly through improved language, literacy and numeracy skills.
As the Professional Development Lead for the programme, you will provide vision, professional leadership and technical expertise, whilst playing a key role in leading the end-to-end technical design and creation of the training, materials and resources across the programme.
Liaising with the DfE, programme sub-contractors and the Advisory Board, you will be accountable for the quality of the Continuing Professional Development programme and responsible for ensuring the quality of the Early Years CPD Champions through the training and expert oversight of the Early Years Programme Trainers.
You will have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or extensive experience in the Early Years sector as a senior leader, with excellent knowledge of Early Years across a range of settings and expertise in effective CPD approaches for teachers and early years practitioners.
In return we offer:
- Holiday entitlement: 30 days per annum plus bank holidays (pro rata)
- Death in Service: 2 x annual salary
- Company matched pension
- Working week: 35 hours
- Excellent professional development opportunities
