Our Nursery 
We are an ‘Outstanding’, award winning nursery which follows the Reggio Emilia and Scandinavian approach where children are given the freedom, space and responsibility to make their own choices. The nursery benefits from onsite artists (Atelieristas), Ateliers (art studios) and a team of outside leaders who lead on our Forest School program.   Pumpkin Patch is in a large detached house with an extensive garden and caters for 80 children aged 0-5 years. 


Your new role 

  • As nursery manager you will have overall responsibility for the effective daily management of the Nursery, you will have a sound knowledge of Statutory Welfare Requirements and Ofsted expectations and ensure that these are maintained at all times.
  • You will take a lead in ensuring the Reggio Emilia pedagogical approach is embedded in the nursery and the staff view of the child is in line with this approach.
  • You will be a role model to the staff team and be able to showcase high quality practice with regards to individual and group work with children, dealing with staff and parent issues as they arise.
  • You will have overall responsibility for the safety, security and well-being of all children, staff and visitors at all times.
  • You will act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead within the setting, dealing with and support any issues as they arise.
  • You will lead the nursery to maintain its ‘Outstanding’ grading with Ofsted
  • You will embrace, understand and promote Pumpkin Patch Nursery and understand the role you play as a member of the management team in providing high levels of care and education.

What you'll need to succeed 
To succeed you will need a caring and confident manner, as well as a desire to positively impact the nursery. You will need to have five years post qualification experience as well as two years of management experience. You will hold a Level 4 or higher qualification in the Early Years.
