Nursery Practitioner
Salary: up to £20,000.00
Hours: Full Time or Part Time
Description
- We require a qualified and experienced level 3 or equivalent to join our team, working full time. We may consider reduced part-time working.
- We offer a holiday club, and emergency childcare subject to availability.
- We provide care and development for children from 12 weeks old to 5 years, in a safe and stimulating ‘home away from home’ environment.
- We are registered for the 2, 3 & 4-year-old Government Funding, including the 30 hours Government extended hours
About the role:
- To assist the Room Leader/Nursery Manager in leading a team of nursery workers who will maintain the smooth day to day running of Immanuel’s Day Nursery.
- Be committed to working professionally, and responsibly, as an individual and as a member of a team.
Duties:
- Supervising children during meal times, feeding children where applicable, toilet training, changing nappies, comforting children if distressed and to encourage children to rest when necessary.
- Ensuring children are kept clean at all times, children’s noses wiped, clean faces, hands and clothes.
- To ensure routines, activities, assessments and observations are completed daily.
- To follow all childcare and health and safety policies and procedures promoting personal hygiene with all age groups.
- To participate in ensuring the base room is kept clean and tidy at all times.
Skills and experience:
- Have NVQ 2 or level 3
- Have post qualifying experience with children ages 0-5 years old
- Have organisational skills
- Good communication skills
- Have good teamwork
- Be reliable
- Be responsible
- Have commitment
- Be friendly
- Caring
- Have high work standards
- Be physically fit e.g. able to lift and bend down
- Have a solid knowledge of the EYFS
- Have an up-to-date Paediatric First Aid xSafeguarding and Food Hygiene
- Need a clear and valid DBS – oversee applicants will need a clear and valid certificate of good conduct
- Be flexible with start and finishing times
- Be a team-player who is enthusiastic
