Nursery Chef required in Woolwich, London SE18

JBD The Early Years Specialists are looking to recruit an experienced Nursery Chef for a day nursery located in Woolwich, London SE18.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Nursery Chef, experienced in Saatvic vegetarian meals, to set up the workings of a brand new nursery kitchen.  The chef will be primarily responsible for preparing Saatvic vegetarian meals and snacks for children aged 6 months to 5 years.

Main Duties will include:

To work within Food Safety, Health and Safety and adhering to policies and procedures to maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen, and to achieve the highest awards in environmental health inspections.

To menu plan and be able to make fresh meals and not rely on pre-prepared meals, manage the food budget, and maintaining a safe, hygienic and well run kitchen.

This is a permanent position, 52 weeks per year, Monday to Friday working 35 hours per week on shift basis that covers meal times.  Candidates must have experience in catering for large numbers, preferably children, have a level 2 or 3 in food hygiene and good knowledge of safety, HACCP and COSHH, good written and verbal skills and be willing for a criminal records check to be completed.  Salary ranges from £20 to £25K per annum dependent on experience and qualifications.
