Friendly Families Nursery
New Parent-Led Nursery
Position Available: Nursery Manager
Location: Deptford, SE8
Contract Type: Full Time – Flexible hours may be available
Start Date: December 2019
Friendly Families Nursery is looking to recruit an experienced Nursery Manager who is passionate about families, creativity and the outdoors.
This is a brand new, not-for-profit nursery due to open in January 2020, and is designed to reflect its diverse local community in Deptford. Situated in a purpose-built nursery, with a beautiful garden co-designed by local children and parents, Friendly Families Nursery will accommodate up to 12 children initially, growing to a maximum of 35 children.
Friendly Families Nursery has been established by a group of local parents who have set the vision and initial business plan for the nursery with the support of two charities (the New Economics Foundation and Coram Family and Childcare), funding from Trust for London and the Greater London Authority, and a partnership with Peabody.
This role is ideal for someone who wants to be part of an inclusive, progressive and parent-led setting.
About the Role
You will work with a small group of Parent Directors to design and deliver an affordable, welcoming and family- friendly environment, engaging with a wider group of local parents. The nursery aims to provide a safe and stimulating environment for children to explore and learn through their interests, curiosity and competence. This is an ideal position for someone who values a strong partnership with parents, and an educational approach based on creative exploration and the outdoor environment, as essential for children’s learning and wellbeing.
Benefits
· 28 days annual leave (including bank holidays)
· Additional 2 weeks paid leave over the Christmas and New Year period
· Pension with 3% employer contribution
· Annual £500 training budget, plus training offered by Peabody
· Happy to discuss flexible working and discounted childcare
You will receive appropriate support from parent directors and our partner organisations in this challenging and exciting role.
