Deputy Manager

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with deputy manager, room leader or other leadership experience, who is passionate about early years education to join an "Outstanding" nursery. The setting is part of a small group of settings all located in the SW area of London and with a passionate local following in each of their neighbourhoods. They have built a reputation built on care, play, education and fun for the children and staff.

The Role

As a Deputy Nursery Manager, you will ensure the smooth running of the day in the site. Directly reporting to the manager on site, you'll liaise with them daily about logistics, routines and required tasks to support them with daily operations.

You will be co-responsible for ensuring the safety, safeguarding and well-being of the children and staff, and will step up to lead teams in the absence of the manager. You will role model and promote the setting's philosophy and ethos, and support the team to provide wonderful and dynamic opportunities for the children to learn and grow.

Salary: £27,000, dependent upon experience.

What we are looking for in our ideal deputy:

• A minimum of Early Years Level 3 qualification or QTS/PGCE
• Experience as a manager or deputy in a nursery setting
• A real passion for nature play and engaging children
• Experience of implementing the EYFS statutory framework
• Good knowledge and understanding of the safeguarding children obligations
• Someone who is highly organised, reliable and a driven team-player
• Strong relationship-building and communication skills to build a rapport with parents and practitioners alike
• The ability to adapt quickly to changes, is flexible and uses initiative 28 days annual leave, inclusive of public holidays
