Deputy Head of Early Years – Nursery and Under Fives Drop In

Location: Coram’s Fields, 93 Guilford Street, London, WC1N 1DN

Salary: £26,081

Annual Leave: 26 days p/a (plus bank holidays)

Reporting to: Head of Early Years

Responsible for: Line Management of Nursery and Under 5’s practitioners

Hours: 35 hrs per week        

Contract: Permanent

Role Summary

The Deputy Head of Early Years will provide support to the Head of Early Years in overseeing Coram’s Fields Nursery and Under Fives Drop-In service. They will form part of the Nursery Senior Leadership Team and will have responsibility for supporting the growth in quality across all of Coram’s Fields Under Fives services.

For over 80 years, Coram’s Fields has provided essential support for the children and families of Kings Cross and the surrounding neighbourhoods, through the provision of a seven acre park and delivery of a range of services including; an Under 5s Drop In, Nursery, Out of School Club, Sports Programme and Youth Programme. Coram’s Fields nursery promotes a caring and nurturing family atmosphere for all. We recognise that children learn best when they are actively engaged in meaningful experiences, so our planning is flexible to enable us to meet the needs and interests of individual children. All staff and children are returning to the nursery after working in bubbles for three months so there are added challenges of bringing everyone together and still being able to keep everyone safe.

Relevant Qualifications/Attributes

• Level 3 Early Years qualification or above

• Genuine passion for education and making a difference to the lives of children

• Positive outlook (someone who always sees the glass as half full)

• Bags of drive and motivation with a ‘make it happen’ attitude

• A love for customer service (you want to make people happy)

• High energy brought to every task you take on, and a solution driven approach to problems.

The above skills and attributes alongside a commitment and desire to learn as you grow into the role will be of the utmost importance.
