Would you like to work for a Nursery School that always puts the Teachers, Children and Parent/Carers needs as the most important thing that they do?

We are offering a fantastic opportunity for a Head of Nursery for our Garden House Nursery School in Kingston-upon-Thames, joining our dedicated, passionate team.  Applicants should have experience in working with children and must have a relevant degree (e.g in Early Education) or postgraduate (e.g. EYT or QTS).

Garden House Nursery Schools and Stars Nursery Schools are progressive Reggio Emilia Nursery Schools in Surrey (Worcester Park and Kingston-upon-Thames) for children aged
6 months to 5 years old. We are based in beautiful large Edwardian detached houses providing a home from home setting with bright airy rooms, natural and soft furnishings with wooden and natural educational resources, we are very lucky and fortunate to have large natural gardens for the children to play and enjoy their time in. We are a completely child-led play based learning environment.

We are a private company which has been established since 2003 and we currently operate
2 boutique children’s nursery schools and wish to expand within the year. All our nurseries have been newly renovated inside and out with a natural effect garden for children to grow and develop through the Reggio Emilia approach. We pride ourselves on providing a highly experienced and knowledgeable team for you to work alongside, where a sense of humour and love of learning for yourself and children goes a long way.

Successful applicants will be very energetic and ambitious with excellent problem-solving skills. They will be prepared to work in an evolving, sometimes challenging environment to continue to develop their practice as a leader/practitioner. Applicants should understand the Reggio Emilia approach and strive to embed this approach within all aspects of their practice by offering wonderful learning experiences for our children in conjunction with their families and other team members.

Each candidate has a clear training plan to enable them to further their career with Garden House Nursery Schools and Stars Nursery Schools.

You will lead your team using your existing skills, experience and passion for child-led learning. You will follow children’s interests and scaffold their learning in extraordinary and enabling environments for play-based learning.

You'll love working with children, mentoring a team, and being creative at finding and inspiring ways to become an exceptional setting for all those who access it.

When you join our wonderful team, we will provide you with friendly support from our fellow Managers and Leaders as well as our Head Office Team. We want our Heads of Nurseries and Deputy Head Of Nurseries to be inspiring leaders rather than your important time taken doing administrative and operational paperwork for the majority of your day, our Head Office team offer strong support by managing your HR, recruitment, invoicing, parent enquiries and as much paperwork as we can take off your shoulders. Your job is to passionately lead and inspire your team to continue to offer children awe inspiring daily experiences.
