Lunchtime Assistant

Salary and benefits: £8.50 – £9.50 per hour plus Benefits

Hours: 16.25 a week 

Location: Woodham House, Carlton Road, Off Chertsey Road, Woking GU21 4HE

Overview of the role

As a Lunchtime Assistant you will offer valuable support to the childcare teams during the busy lunchtime period. As well as assist with serving and clearing away lunch; you will also be expected to interact and play with the children, set up activities and be part of the staff team. You will also be relieving full time staff who require a lunch break. These are ideal positions for people who love working with children but do not have an NVQ qualification in childcare and would like to work hours that fit in with their own childcare arrangements or other commitments.

Qualifications and experience

• The ability to relate and interact with children
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to develop positive relationships with parents, carers and other childcare professionals
• The ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions
• Good observation and organisational skills
• Excellent references and a clear enhanced DBS (DBS is paid for by Fennies)
• Good levels of numeracy and literacy (minimum level 1 Functional skills, GCSE (or equivalent) English and Maths grades A-C)
• A reasonable level of IT skills would be an advantage
• An introductory level in Child Development, Health and Social Care or Similar entry level qualification is an advantage but not essential
