We are looking for a passionate Early Years teacher to join our nursery in the very desirable Kensington area of London. We are a term time, sessional nursery, catering for children aged between 2 to 5 years old. Our nursery is stone throw away from Holland Park, offering opportunities for the children to explore the local community and open spaces! We run a number of extra-curricular activities such as music, tennis, yoga and French. Employees benefit from being minutes away from convenient transport links for both buses and trains.

As part of the role of early years teacher you will have your own key group/class of children to support, plan and teach to the highest level. You will be expected to develop exciting learning programmes that develop, challenge and excite all of the children’s individual interests.

You will hold a full and relevant qualification in Early Years at Level 3 or above from a recognised awarding scheme (CWDC Diploma, NNEB, BTEC, NVQ, CACHE). with at least two years of experience as a nursery practitioner. You will understand and ensure the requirements of the EYFS and Ofsted are met and have experience, knowledge of, or a recognised Montessori qualification. 

Key Responsibilities

  • The ability to communicate effectively with parents and other professionals
  • Have good ICT skills and able to communicate effectively through this medium 
  • Keep and update records in partnership with the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager
  • Support curriculum planning and implementation 
  • To uphold each of our nursery policies, importantly those that relate to our safeguarding commitments 
  • To participate in self-assessment, reflection and ongoing professional development as part of our commitment to training
  • Ensure that the children who attend the nursery school have fun and learn new skills

The successful candidate will have:

  • An excellent Knowledge of the EYFS
  • NVQ in Early Years Childcare Level 3 or above 
  • ICT qualification or a sound knowledge of Microsoft applications
  • Montessori Level 3 / 4 qualification (desirable)
  • At least 2 years of experience in a nursery setting
  • An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check
  • Recognised Paediatric First Aid certificate
  • Safeguarding Training
