Assistant Age Group Leader / Room Leader (under 2’s)

At Storybook Montessori, we are looking for an exceptional under 2’s assistant age group leader to help lead our well qualified and dedicated team. Working closely with the leadership team, you will ensure all aspects of the day to day running of Storybook are fulfilled to the highest standards, whilst helping us to maintain our OFSTED rating and Montessori Accreditation.

Assistant Age Group Leader / Room Leader Responsibilities:

• Support the Under 2s Age Group Leader in leading and managing a classroom in accordance with company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and local authority and OFSTED requirements.
• Support the team to ensure that the EYFS and Montessori principles are being upheld in each classroom.
• Work proactively with the Age Group Leader to ensure safeguarding practices are up to date.
• Work proactively with the Age Group Leader to ensure staff deployment meets EYFS staffing requirements (i.e. age appropriate staff: child ratios and qualified: unqualified ratio) and to ensure children are well cared for and closely supervised at all times.
• Engage with parents ensuring any queries are handled professionally and promptly.
• Ensure that own work practices consider the welfare & safeguarding of each child within the nursery.

Assistant Age Group Leader/ Room Leader Requirements:

• At least two years previous experience as a Room Leader.
• At least 3 years occupational experience working within a nursery setting.
• Level three childcare qualification.
• Montessori qualification would be desirable but not essential.
• Previous leadership and management experience.
• We are committed to safeguarding children and this post will be subject to appropriate vetting procedures and a satisfactory DBS check.
• Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality and be committed to the safeguarding of our children.

Location: Ascot

Job type: 36 - 40 hours, Permanent (hours to be worked between 7.30am and 6pm, Monday to Friday)
