We are looking for a FUN friend, who enjoys being OUTDOORS and thinks that children are the most AMAZING people in the world, to come and help us to LEARN and grow at our nursery.

We are a small FOREST NURSERY  and After School Club in Loughton Essex, we are aged from 16 weeks to 11 years old and we spend a lot of time LEARNING outdoors in our beautiful woodland area. So you need to be a BIG friend who has a lot of ENERGY, is very CREATIVE and enjoys PLAYING.

Main Responsibilities

Provide positive leadership of our setting and team of staff through working in partnership with children, families, colleagues, and other professionals to meet the needs of all of our children at the nursery

To have a good understanding, knowledge, and experience of promoting the learning and development requirements of the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage. This includes being responsible for providing and implementing a fun curriculum based on the needs and interests of the children. Monitor the curriculum, teaching, and learning and support our staff through Continual, Professional, Development (CPD), team teaching, observations, etc.

To regularly oversee the assessment of all children in the nursery and implement procedures to improve the outcomes for our children. Monitor the support, progress, and outcomes of our children with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) including making applications for funding and resourcing according to need. To complete progress checks at two and host meetings with outside agencies.

Have a secure understanding of the safeguarding and welfare requirements and how to keep the children in your care safe, through child protection, safer recruitment, supporting staff through regular supervision, training and support. Ensure that the setting and equipment is safe for children, staff, and others. Contribute to and implement all policies and procedures.

Must Have’s:

Minimum of a level 3 qualification in childcare.

3 years experience working with children age 12 weeks to 5 years.

1-year nursery management experience.

Self-motivation and confidence.

Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written.

Good knowledge and experience of the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage(EYFS).

Excellent organisation skills.

Able to deliver a child-led, play-based curriculum both indoors and out in the Forest.

Desirable’s:

Forest school and outdoor education experience is desirable but a willingness to train as a Forest School practitioner is essential.
