Salary: £30,500.00-£34,000.00 per year

Friendly Families Nursery is a new, not-for-profit nursery operating from a purpose built setting in Deptford, Lewisham. We opened in September 2020 and are experiencing lots of local interest from families who connect with our innovative family focus, our creativity and the wonderful outdoor space that we have. We are looking for an experienced Nursery Manager to help us take the nursery to the next step, moving us from a newly opened nursery into a high quality setting that supports children, parents and our early years staff to thrive and succeed.

The nursery is proud of the great diversity of its local community in Deptford, SE London. As a charity, we have six volunteer Directors (trustees), the majority of whom have children attending the nursery. Working with other local parents, the Directors have set the vision and initial business plan for the nursery. We are looking for an experienced and confident nursery manager to work with the staff team and parent directors to ensure the vision of an affordable, accessible, high quality nursery can be achieved. Our nursery values our team of childcare professionals and seeks to ensure they all receive fair pay with good terms and conditions and opportunities for personal development.

About the role

You will work with a small team of early years professionals, parent directors and parent volunteers to deliver child-centred, affordable and high quality early years care from our purpose built setting. The nursery’s ethos is to provide a safe and stimulating environment that is accessible to all local children to explore and learn through their interests, curiosity and competence.

This is an ideal position for someone who believes an educational approach based on creative exploration and the outdoor environment is essential for children’s learning and wellbeing and who values a strong partnership with parents to support children to thrive.
