The  Early Years Alliance is the largest early years membership organisation and voluntary sector provider of quality affordable childcare and education in England. An educational charity, the Alliance represents the interests of over 14,000 member settings who deliver care and learning to over 800,000 families every year. We are looking to recruit flexible Early Years staff to join our bank team in Croydon.  We are also looking for additional staff to join our bank team in Lewisham and other parts of SE London and Kent, and additionally in Ealing.

Main duties:

  • To contribute towards children’s learning and development needs by providing stimulating and age-appropriate play and learning and development opportunities in creches and play sessions
  • To contribute to a high level of care that will enhance the children’s general health and well-being and to ensure that all toys, equipment and environment are suitable, clean and safe at all times.
  • To supervise the children and to protect them from dangerous or harmful situations.
  • To be aware of the security procedures of the venue(s) and manage the arrival and departure of each child safety.

Essential criteria:

  • A minimum of a relevant Level 2 childcare qualification.
  • It is a statutory requirement that: “staff have a sufficient understanding and use of English to ensure the well-being of children in their care.” Section 3.26, EYFS (2014).
  • Recent experience of working in early years services.
  • A commitment to equal opportunities and to be aware of the harmful impact on children of discriminatory experiences and ensure that children feel valued and respected for who they are.

Hours are as and when required.
