  • Working in partnership with senior staff to ensure the smooth running of the nursery whilst adhering to the policies and procedures of Inspire Day Nurseries Ltd, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and within the guidelines laid down by Ofsted.
  • Ensuring confidentiality is maintained in the nursery.
  • Offering all children, families and staff equal opportunities with regard to their religious persuasion, racial origins, gender, disabilities, cultural or linguistic background; in particular, challenging situations where racism or discrimination is displayed.
  • Providing a good role model for other staff and students.
  • Attending and contributing to regular staff meetings.
  • Providing regular feedback to the Room Leader with regards to the nursery.
  • Attending in-service training when required. 
  • Care and supervision of the children with regard to their physical, emotional and intellectual needs.
  • Carrying out the planning for your room on a rota’d basis and updating the development records for your key children. 
  • Ensuring that the preparation, care and cleanliness of all areas of the nursery and equipment are carried out according to the policies and procedures and risk assessment.
  • Work within the staff team and with the children to ensure maximum use, without unnecessary wastage of Nursery resources and equipment.
  • Liaison with parents and negotiation of working targets ensuring effective communication within the nursery.
  • Recording accidents and incidents and ensuring forms are returned to the office once signed by the relevant parties.
  • Support in the arrangements of regular parents’ evening, publicity, open weekend and children’s outings and ensuring effective marketing.
  • Networking in the community as appropriate.
  • Any other duties deemed appropriate to the role as prescribed by the Deputy, Manager or Director.
