We are a busy Montessori pre-school looking for a competent and proactive Toddler Guardian/Teacher experienced in the Early Years Foundations Stage working with 0 - 3 year old to join our team in Pond Square, Highgate, London.

You will be a key member of the team acting as a positive role model to the children and supporting Highgate Montessori in the delivery and maintenance of outstanding service.

Overview:

  • To nurture the personality of each child and to meet their individual needs through the Montessori Philosophy and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
  • To develop and support each child’s individual experiences and ideas based upon their own personal circumstances.
  • To provide a peaceful and interesting learning environment where each child can feel safe and relaxed.
  • To promote the joy of learning, encouraging curiosity, creativity and imagination, forming a positive foundation that will grow with each child throughout their entire education and beyond.
  • To develop social and emotional integration through individual and group learning.
  • You will have a flexible approach, a positive attitude and the ability to build positive constructive working relationships with children, colleagues, parents, students and other professionals as appropriate.
  • You will hold a full and relevant EYFS childcare qualification.
  • Previous experience of working with children under 3 years.
  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding/child protection.
  • Passion to deliver high-quality childcare and varied curriculum opportunities.
  • A willingness to become proficient and be open minded to learning.

Requirements:

  • AMI / MCI / NNEB or Early Years Qualification required
  • Level 2 or 3 in Early Years Foundation Stage an advantage
  • Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
  • At least one year’s continued experience working within a reputable early years setting, a Montessori environment would be an advantage.
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • D.B.S.
  • Prepared to work in all weather conditions as part of our open-air learning programme.
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English.

  Your Role:

  • As an EYFS Practitioner you will be role modelling your knowledge and best practice to colleagues and delivering the best learning opportunities to our children between the ages of 18 months and 3 years.
  • Creating and implementing positive parent partnerships by communicating effectively and giving regular updates ensuring every child’s progress is recorded in our classroom diaries and early years foundation stage personal folders.
  • As part of our team, you will follow our values outlined in our mission statement.
  • Ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the preschool is operating in line with our policies and procedures.

Hours:

  • FULL TIME:Monday to Friday 7.30 am – 4.30 pm

  • Bank Holiday, Good Friday - Friday 15th April 2022

  • Bank Holiday, Spring - Monday 30th May 2022
  • Summer Holidays 2022 - 22nd August - 2nd September
  • Additional day off for your birthday providing we are in ratio or an additional paid day in your salary
  • Additional day of for Christmas Shopping providing we are in ratio or an additional paid day in your salary

CPD Training During your probationary period

  • First Aid Ofsted endorsed
  • Safeguarding course
  • Manual Handling online short course
  • Food hygiene online short course
  • Upon completion of your probationary period an ongoing CPD plan will be in place

Upon completion of the listed courses and the completion of a satisfactory probationary period, Highgate Montessori will financially support the successful candidate to study a Montessori Assistants training course and an ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) plan will be put in to place.
