Job Details

We are looking to appoint a Nursery Assistant to Join our outstanding nursery at Saint Felix School, Southwold.

The Nursery opened in September 1998 and quickly gained a reputation as a first-class, innovative setting.  Within the EYFS we strive to create, maintain and improve our setting so that it meets the highest standards. Our aim is to offer the best experience for young children to achieve and develop their potential in preparation for entry into the Reception class.

Our EYFS accommodates a maximum of 20 children from 2 to 4+ years of age and are carefully organised so that children have the maximum opportunity for hands-on experience.  Children are encouraged to make choices and follow up interests, fostering a responsibility for their future learning needs.

This is a fantastic opportunity for you to join our Nursery. Our Head of Early years and her team have created an environment where our children and nurtured, supported and provided for at an outstanding level. We are looking for you to join our established team and help us continue our excellent provision.

The role is a Part time position and would be for 4 days a week, this is also a term time only position with hours of 8.30 – 3:30. This position will be fixed through until July 2022 with the opportunity for a permanent role in September 2022.

As well as joining a fantastic team, the resources and facilities are excellent. Our classrooms are modern, well-resourced and will allow you to educate our children to the highest levels.

We welcome applications from experienced Early Years Practitioners as well as those starting their Early Years careers.

Please apply ASAP as interviews will be arranged as soon as applications are received.

Saint Felix School  is totally committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children & young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. Applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening, as all new staff will be subject to enhanced DBS clearance, identity checks, qualification checks and employment checks to include an exploration of any gaps within employment, two satisfactory references and registration with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

ILG currently owns and operates 16 schools and nurseries across Greater London. We cherish their particular identities and traditions, actively encouraging them to participate in their local communities. Overall, our staff of over 330 look after over 1,300 pupils, making us one of the largest independent school groups in the UK.   We see this as one extended family, allowing us to share best practice and innovation between schools in order to raise standards of teaching and learning for all our students. Each location has its own history – some of our schools are nearly 100 years old – and we encourage cultural individuality so that new ideas can grow naturally with the best ideas then implemented right across the group. This collaborative spirit is an effective way of ensuring that education practices do not fall behind the times. And it is why we encourage out-of-the-box methods such as Apple teaching and future thinking.   ILG schools may look reassuringly traditional in some ways but our move away from standardisation toward customisation is not just modern but quietly revolutionary. We make the effort to understand the differences between individual children and tailor their teaching at a personal level. This means that all children, no matter their needs, are catered for. Our commitment to parents is that no one child will ever be left behind.
