About the team

This is an exciting time for the team as it grows and develops to extend its reach into schools. We are looking to recruit two highly motivated and experienced practitioners to join our established Early Start SEND and Inclusion Team for the position of Team Lead to facilitate team expansion.  You will lead one of two multi-disciplinary teams of approximately 5 practitioners including early start SEND and Inclusion workers, assistant psychologist and a specialist teacher.

The inclusion team works within the wider multi-disciplinary Early Start Ealing Service, alongside health practitioners, social care workers, family outreach workers, early years providers and schools in Ealing.

The team supports early identification and interventions that enable the successful inclusion and participation of children with additional needs and disabilities across early years services, settings and schools.

About you

You will be able to demonstrate sound knowledge and understanding of the principles of inclusion and the ability to motivate, inspire and challenge service providers and others to develop their inclusive practices through a range of strategies when supporting children’s experiences starting within the home, through to engagement with services across Ealing.

You will have extensive experience of working with children with a range of additional needs and be dedicated, passionate and committed to achieving the very highest standards of practice.

You will have skills to lead on areas within the team, including coaching and supervising staff in their roles. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills to enable effective teamwork within a multi-disciplinary team, with families, early years providers and schools.

You will have a degree level qualification in child development or similar and must have substantive post qualifying experience working with children and families with additional needs.  In addition, you will have some experience working in a consultative capacity and will have led on areas of responsibility within a team.

This role is deemed customer facing and as such you must have a command of spoken English which is sufficient to enable you to effectively perform the role.  This requirement relates to Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016.
