Reports to: Nursery Manager

Salary Band: up to £28,500 - £33,500

The role

Linden Tree Nursery Schools are offering an opportunity for an enthusiastic, passionate and capable manager to join our dedicated and diverse team within our Froebelian settings for children aged from six months to five years old.

You will already have some experience managing staff in a busy day nursery environment and enjoy those challenges. You will want to extend your knowledge of Froebelian practice and learn more about the principles which underpin the approach.

Main Areas of Responsibility

  • To support the nursery manager to manage the team effectively and frequently produce positive feedback from parents and Head Office
  • Effectively promote the nursery to current parents during the day and to potential customers during viewings to meet occupancy targets
  • To adhere to Policies and Practices and be able to answer relevant questions about these from parents, carers and any outside agencies that may attend the nursery
  • To assist the manager in communicating to employees any updates to current employment terms and conditions
  • Work with the nursery manager and inspectors during any Inspections by regulatory bodies and to assist in the implementation of any recommendations thereafter
  • Provide cover or assist as required to ensure ratios are maintained
  • Assist the Training team in managing a nd working with your nursery team to ensure daily delivery of high-quality early years practice following the EYFS and Froebelian approach
  • Assisting the manager to sourcing and purchase resources using petty cash and

  • To actively promote and support the safeguarding, equality and equity of all children in our care
  • Help to deliver an environment where children and staff recognise, value and respect diversity. This includes different cultures, religions, languages, disabilities, members of the LGBTQ+ community and SEND and ensure that environments, resources and activities reflect this
  • To assist in training activities as required including staff inductions, appraisals, supervisions
  • To support the nursery manager in ensuring that all training and development is documented on Nursery system for individual staff members, including qualifications and certificates
  • Assist the nursery manager to manage staff effectively to ensure ratios are maintained throughout the setting and communicated to Head Office appropriately
  • To assist the nursery manager in taking responsibility for Health and Safety policy and procedures throughout the nursery and share that responsibility appropriately with all staff
  • Support the Facilities & Environment manager as required in the setting
  • Work to reduce and maintain a low carbon footprint and improve sustainability practices in all areas of the company

Requirements

  • You must have a minimum Level 3 qualification (Degree or Level 5 Management qualification desired) in Early Years and/or Education and Child Care
  • Ideally at least three years’ experience of managing a nursery as a deputy or third in charge and some experience of dealing with Ofsted during an inspection
  • Excellent problem solving abilities
  • Enthusiasm to develop future education al practice
  • Must have the right to work in the UK, n o convictions or cautions, clear DBS

Our nursery schools are only registered for 32-43 children respectively to provide a homely learning environment for all. Which are furnished with high quality resources and outdoor gardens. We link with the local community and visit various parks, commons, libraries, museums, art galleries, elderly care homes as part of our continuous practice.

We register children from 6 months to 5 years of age. Bespoke and tailored activities provided in-house and not dependent on booking pattern.
