Do you plan next steps for Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Children? Have you placed the same importance on planning for your own Early Years career?

Defence Children Services (DCS) are looking to appoint two inspirational Early Years professionals to join our dedicated teams in Cyprus and Brunei commencing September 2022 or as soon as possible thereafter. The newly established posts offer unique opportunities for experienced practitioners to shape and lead pedagogy within our settings and maintain the excellent standard of early years care and education we offer.

The DEYM plays a crucial role in the operational delivery of MoD Early Years Foundation Stage provision. Under direction of the Early Years Manager (EYM), the DEYM is responsible for the safe and effective delivery of early years care and education. The DEYM is the Designated Safeguarding Children Deputy (DSP) and will provide first-line management to the Room Leaders.

The role involves effective supervision of all practitioners and staff. The DEYM will work closely with and support the EYM to ensure effective implementation of our play based, child-initiated emergent curriculum. In addition to planning and directing sessions, facilitating weekly planning meetings, assisting with INSET training days, monitoring children’s learning journeys, the DEYM will be expected to champion effective quality teaching and learning, reflective practice and strive to build strong teams.

Above all, we are looking for a creative and innovative leader with a passion for teaching and learning.

Benefits include:

  • Learning and development tailored to your role. A culture encouraging inclusion and diversity. Civil Service Pension. A paid annual return flight to the UK is also provided for each family member after first having completed 12 months in post. Accommodation is free for the first five years of your MOD employment overseas with subsidised utilities. Thereafter, rent and utilities are payable.
