Level 3 apprentice Nursery Assistant Position

**Childcare experience is essential to apply for this role**

A fantastic opportunity for a qualified and experienced Nursery assistant. We pride ourselves in being Kent’s first 24-hour childcare provider with a passion for supporting children and their families.

As a Nursery Assistant you will be responsible for providing the highest level of care and education for children attending the nursery and ensure the individual needs of the child are identified and met along with building positive working relationships with the children, staff, parents and carers.

The successful applicant will need to be enthusiastic, have a positive attitude along with excellent communication skills, be reliable, trustworthy, hardworking, have previous childcare experience, clean DBS check or willing to obtain and paediatric first aid training.

Working hours will be between Monday to Friday: 8:00am to 6:00pm. Full-time position available to start immediately.

Occasional overtime may be required.

Job Specification

  • Minimum 1 year experience in childcare.
  • Gaining Level 3 on the job training.
  • A great team player and ability to adapt quickly to new environments.
  • Able to work under pressure in a fast pace setting.
  • Great communication with staff, parents and children
  • Use your initiative and act accordingly
  • Paediatric First Aid trained (or willing to train)
  • Be willing to undertake an Enhanced DBS check, if you do not have a DBS on update service.

Duties & Responsibility

  • Assist with teaching and leading children's activities.
  • Maintain children's daily diaries and progress journals.
  • Assist on school drop offs and collections.
  • Assist with preparing snacks and meals for children.
  • Provide overall safety and well-being of the children.
  • Build relationships with members of staff and parents to ensure you give the best care possible.
  • Plan and take part in play-based activities both indoors and outdoors.
  • Support and encourage children’s learning and development
  • Assist with personal care and general day to day requirements of the setting.
