Fundamental principles: 

  • To provide the best quality of education and care to all children.
  • To Focus on providing children with an enabling environment where their voices are listened to and agency applied to each individual in order to support the best possible outcomes for all. 
  • To adopt emotion coaching to enable you to enhance each learning moment and use each opportunity to scaffold learning and development around topics including feelings and emotions, managing conflict and learning how to self-regulate; thus aid opportunities for children to learn from their lived experiences. 

Roles and responsibilities:

  • To hold a full enhanced DBS and remain on the updating service to enable termly checks. 
  • To hold full level 3 child care qualification, Maths and English GCSE at a minimum Grade C or Level 4.
  • To effectively deliver the EYFS whilst working in partnership with parents and carers and external agencies to better understand the unique child and their individual needs.
  • To gain an understanding of the unique child through completing an initial pack with the family thus developing an understanding of the unique child and if there are any Special Educational Needs and or Disabilities, the family culture, religion, ethnicity, medical history and the child’s special interests and comforts.
  • To use online applications to record children’s development, hold parent evenings and to work in partnership with parents and carers to create targets which effectively support the development of all children. 
  • To use online applications to provide parents and carers with regular updates throughout the day and to maintain good levels of communication with our parents and carers.
  • To use online applications to complete risk assessments, accident and incident reports and child initial packs. 
  • To be acutely aware of the EYFS and all development areas and what early intervention entails. 
  • To provide early interventions for children who need additional support in order to achieve their best outcomes/
  • To work in partnership with parents and carers the management team, SENDCo and external agencies to implement IEP’s, complete relevant documentation to support any SEND applications and attend regular reviews. 
  • Safeguard and protect all children from the different types of abuse and to ensure that all children are able to achieve their best possible outcomes. 
  • To maintain the health and safety of all who use the nursery service.
  • To carry out a range of roles and responsibilities to ensure the smooth runnings of the nursery classrooms. This will include cleaning tasks and the preparation of meals. 
  • To adopt a child centred approach in all that you do whilst balancing and ensuring that all tasks and activities are conducted in a timely fashion. 
  • To create, set up and implement a range of inspiring activities which promote the teaching and learning of the 7 EYFS development areas. 
  • To take responsibility and accountability for meeting deadlines and completing any CPD training courses which have been assigned to you.
  • To read and learn all policies and procedures relevant to your fole and the safe running of the nursery. 
  • To be flexible within your working hours and approach. Always working as part of a team.
  • To attend compulsory team meetings and termly training sessions and complete weekly CPD posted on our online platform. 
  • Role model and demonstrate high standards of practice and guide those who need support, e.g., students, volunteers and apprentices.

All candidates will have to complete a minimum of a 6 month- 8 month probationary period depending on the assigned job role.

Every summer we hold an annual staff trip where we can have some fun, bond and get to know each other outside of the working environment and we celebrate the end of each year with a lovely evening out and a celebratory dinner.

We have high Aspirations and goals for our nursery. Our director works closely with the Quality Assurance Officer, our Management team and all employees to continuously push to achieve the best outcomes for our families and their children.
