Guy’s and St Thomas’ is among the UK’s busiest and most successful NHS foundation trusts. We provide a full range of hospital and community services for people in south London and as well as specialist care for patients from further afield including cancer, renal, orthopaedic, respiratory and cardiovascular services.

Guy’s is home to the largest dental school in Europe and a £160 million Cancer Centre opened in 2016. As part of our commitment to provide care closer to home, in 2017 we also opened a cancer centre and a kidney treatment centre at Queen Mary’s Hospital in Sidcup. St Thomas’ has one of the largest critical care units in the UK and one of the busiest emergency departments in London. It is also home to Evelina London Children’s Hospital.

We are looking for Nursery Assistants and Nursery Officers to join our team.

Nursery Assistant

Fixed term, Full time 37.5 hours per week (7am- 7pm)

£22,383 per annum

Nursery Assistant Job Summary

  • To participate with the Nursery Officers in the day to day operation and organisation of the nursery within agreed policies and procedures and to promote good parent/staff relationships within the group.
  • To work as part of a team, providing a safe, caring and stimulating environment within the Day Nursery for a group of children aged between 3 months and 5 years. 
  • To assist in delivering a high standard of care and education which meets legislative requirements and allows children to develop to their full potential.

Nursery Officer

12 Months fixed term, full time 37.5 hours per week (7am- 7pm)

£27,948- £29,468

Nursery Officer Job Summary

  • To work under the guidance of the nursery management team and/ or other designated staff.
  • To participate in the day to day operation and organisation of the nursery within agreed policies and procedures and to promote solid parent/staff relationships within the group.
  • To work as part of a team, providing a safe, caring and stimulating environment within the Day Nursery for a group of children aged between 3 months and 5 years. 
  • To assist in the delivery in the standard of care and education which meets legislative requirements and allows children to develop to their full potential.
